Silence
I sit and watch as hairline cracks creep down the wall
And I count grains of dust as they fall through a beam of winter sunlight.
Plump cushions lay resting, undisturbed, against cold leather arms.
There is no clock ticking,
No creaking of an opening door.
Only a deathly silence that slowly strangles the life from me

There is no clock ticking,
No creaking of an opening door.
Only a deathly silence that slowly strangles the life from me
