The Dead Pool
Slowly sinking
Maelstrom of dark water swirls,
Eddies and sucks me down,
Down I go
Grasping at slimy swaying weed,
Air escaping from bursting lungs.
Life trapped inside tiny bubbles
ebbing away.
Maelstrom of dark water swirls,
Eddies and sucks me down,
Down I go
Grasping at slimy swaying weed,
Air escaping from bursting lungs.
Life trapped inside tiny bubbles
ebbing away.

Sandra...This poem is so like William Waterhouse's painting of "Ophelia" from Hamlet..much depth and feeling....Bonnie
